Dr. Venkataraman graduated from Osmania Medical School in Hyderabad, India, completing a residency in adult psychiatry and then a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at University of Michigan. Since then, she has been in private practice in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and medical director at Orchards Children’s Services in Southfield, Michigan, for the past 19 years. Dr. Venkataraman is also medical director at Jewish Family Services and has been there since 2010.
In addition, Dr. Venkataraman was the consulting psychiatrist at Oakland intermediate school district between 2004 until 2011 when the program was discontinued. Her areas of interest include mood and anxiety disorders in children and adolescents as well as autism spectrum disorders.
